Kareem Hunt is visiting with the Minnesota Vikings today after seemingly coming close to signing with two other teams this week.

He has already visited the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts this week.

Earlier this week, it seemed like a sure thing that Kareem Hunt would start the 2023 NFL season with the New Orleans Saints.

It was being reported that the deal was done as long as Hunt passed his physical.

Then he ended up leaving New Orleans without a contract and went to work out for the Indianapolis Colts.

It was reported that the Colts had given Hunt a bigger offer than the Saints before he even took the field for the Saints.

With that, it was then expected that Hunt would be joining the Colts at the end of his visit.

That ended up not being the case once again as he also left Indianapolis without a contract.

Now it looks like he’ll try and impress another team this week.

According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, Hunt is visiting with the Minnesota Vikings today.

The Vikings could need some reinforcements at running back this offseason after letting Dalvin Cook go.

They are currently expected to have Alexander Mattison lead the backfield with Ty Chandler and DeWayne McBride also fighting for roles during the preseason.

None of those options are particularly proven as NFL starters.

Hunt would give the Vikings a veteran option with plenty of experience that could mix in behind Mattison.

The big question here would be the compensation. The Vikings probably aren’t looking to spent a ton on running back depth.

There was also something that stopped Hunt from signing with the Colts, whether it was his contract demands or performance during his visit.

Either of those could be deterrents for the Vikings as well.

It seems unlikely given how his week has played out, but maybe Kareem Hunt will find his next team in Minnesota.
