The internet is chock-full of former sports stars turned influencers. LSU Gymnast Olivia Dunne and former pro golfer Paige Spiranac are among many who have created massive brands on social media as athletes.
And, it’s not hard to figure out why. They know their niche, for sure.
But, there’s a new girl on the block, so to speak. Well, maybe new to many of you. That would be former Marshall Thundering Herd volleyball star, Kayla Simmons.
Kayla Simmons played in 106 matches over four years for Marshall as a setter. The Herd had three winning seasons when she was on the team from 2014-2017, including a 22-8 mark as a junior when she had 516 assists.
Since then, she has created quite a social media following and has a whopping 980,000 followers on Instagram. And, she is also an accountant, if you catch my drift.
In the meantime, it’s not hard to see why the 27-year-old has built up quite the following.
who knows if Kayla Simmons can become as big as Olivia Dunne and Paige Spiranac. But, in my personal opinion, she’s got a shot.
