Kayvon Thibodeaux is putting that first-round pick money to good use.

In a heartwarming and tear-jerking video posted to social media, Thibodeaux can be seen gifting his clearly loving mother a house.

Thibodeaux shared a brief clip on Twitter, which you can find below, and also a full video on YouTube:

Drafted out of the University of Oregon by the New York Giants with the fifth overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Thibodeaux was named High School Defensive Player of the Year in 2018, Pac-12 Defensive Freshman of the Year in 2019, the Morris Trophy (given to the best defensive lineman in the Pac 12) in 2020, and was named a unanimous All-American in 2021.

During his college career with the Oregon Ducks, Thibodeaux racked up 126 total tackles, 35.5 tackles for loss, 19 sacks, and three forced fumbles. As a result of his many college accolades, he was selected by the Giants with a Top 5 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

In his rookie season — which saw the New York Giants qualify for the NFC Playoffs for the first time since 2016 — Thibodeaux largely lived up to the hype, as he played in 14 games, made 49 tackles, and had four sacks, five passes defended and two forced fumbles.

Despite qualifying for the playoffs last season and having the NFL Coach of the Year in Brian Daboll, the New York Giants have just the third-best odds to win the NFC East next season, trailing both the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys. What should give Thibodeaux and the Giants hope, though, is that the NFC East hasn’t had a repeat divisional winner since 2004.
