Kayvon Thibodeaux apparently faked his reaction to the Giants cutting Odell Beckham Jr.

After three games, one target, and zero catches, wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr’s reunion with the New York Giants is over. OBJ was cut by the G-Men on Tuesday.

One of the stranger elements of Odell Beckham Jr’s release, however, was the reaction of pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux.

The Giants released Beckham on September 29 after three games with zero catches and just one target, ending a reunion with the team that drafted him in the first round in 2014.

Giants reporters claimed Kayvon Thibodeaux already knew about Odell Beckham Jr.’s release and only acted surprised during a press conference

Thibodeaux was in the middle of a media availability when a reporter brought it up, and the video quickly made the rounds.

In the clip, Thibodeaux’s eyes go wide as he exclaims “Odell!?”, as if surprised by the news.

“Wish him the best, he’s a legend in the game — he’s definitely going to be able to make a statement somewhere,” the former Oregon Duck said.

A pair of local Giants beat reporters, however, accused Thibodeaux of faking his reaction in front of the media.

To fill the spot, the Giants signed wide receiver and return specialist Braxton Berrios to the active roster.

With quarterback Jaxon Dart sidelined for the season with a torn ACL, the Giants traded for Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy in a seemingly desperate attempt to save their 2026 season.
