Georgia’s Five-Star Running Back Rejects Big-Money Blueprint Behind Tennessee’s $6 Million NIL Deal

Kemon Spell is rated higher than David Gabriel Georges in the college football recruiting Class of 2027. However, the Tennessee commit is going to make a lot more NIL money than the Georgia commit.

Spell (or whoever runs his social media account) is taking note.

It will be interesting to see how things play out over these next four years. The top-two running back recruits in college football are taking very different approaches to their futures.

Tennessee opened its wallet for David Gabriel Georges.

Gabriel Georges ranks as the No. 2 player at his position, running back, and the No. 12 player in the country. He ultimately committed to Tennessee over Ohio State and Ole Miss. His full list of offers also included Alabama, USC, South Carolina, Michigan, Texas, Oklahoma, and Georgia, among others.

David Gabriel Georges signed a financial agreement with the University of Tennessee that will pay him $6 million over the next three years. It also includes other perks, like travel for his family on game weekends.

He is the highest-paid freshman and highest-paid running back in college football history and one of the highest-paid players, period. The Volunteers are giving more money to a true freshman than most schools give their biggest stars.

Kemon Spell is not getting paid the same amount of NIL money at Georgia.

You may not know, based on the amount of chatter surrounding Gabriel Georges, but Kemon Spell is actually ranked as the No. 1 running back in the recruiting Class of 2027. The five-star Georgia commit let it be known that he is only worried about himself.
