Kim Mulkey would not answer any further questions about Angel Reese on Monday. LSU’s head coach made it clear that her First Team All-American is a member of the women’s basketball team and reiterated that any further information will not be made public.
She hopes/plans for her to return sooner rather than later.
The game against Texas Southern marked Reese’s second-straight absence. There has been a lot of drama surrounding all of the ongoings in Baton Rouge.
Mulkey refuses to answer questions, which led her to exchange words with a reporter after the game.
Reese was benched during last Tuesday’s game against Kent State after jacking up a three. It has been reported that she is currently suspended for lackadaisical play.
Nobody outside of the program knows for sure. Mulkey could shut down all of the rumors — including accusations of GPA issues — with an explanation.
There are more loose ends by not saying anything.
The four-time national champion doesn’t care. She has always marched to the beat of her own drum and is doing what she believes will best protect her players family.
Her stance, while admirable, leaves a lot of room for conjecture.

The thing is, the Tigers are so loaded from top to bottom that not having Reese on the floor will not slow them down during the early season. They won 106-47 on Monday.
Aneesah Morrow had another big game with 17 points. Flau’jae Johnson matched. Hailey Van Lith dropped 16. Mikaylah Williams didn’t even play, and she scored 42 against the Golden Flashes last week. Loaded!
LSU will travel to the Cayman Islands later this week for a Feast Week tournament. No further details about Reese will be provided.
