LSU head coach Kim Mulkey was ejected during the Tigers’ recent outing against Northwestern State. She had to be restrained by her team after exploding on officials.

The meltdown came during a 45-point win in Baton Rouge, and it sparked a major reaction on social media.

The eruption came following a charge call against one of her LSU players.

Mulkey clearly disagreed with the ruling, and she let the referee hear that opinion after the fact.

“I’m not leaving you, you’d better toss me,” Mulkey said to the official during the tirade. “I appreciate it. I appreciate officials that know what you’re trying to do. I don’t appreciate bad calls, but it’s part of coaching.”

Angel Reese was also asked about the situation, saying “It was fun” to hold her coach back.

“Of course, she’s going to fight for us and we’re going to fight for her,” Reese said after the game.

It seems the relationship is back on track following Reese’s absence at the beginning of the year. Not much detail was given on that suspension, though it sparked an online drama between Reese’s mother and a family member of another LSU player.

The time away from the court was said to be due to lackadaisical play and a poor attitude, though Mulkey refused to address the situation head-on.

Kim Mulkey’s squad hasn’t found a way to stay out of the headlines since last year’s national championship run, but the Tigers seem to feed off the energy.

After dropping a season-opening matchup to Colorado, LSU has won 11 straight contests with all but one decision coming by double digits.

They’ll look to keep the momentum going as they gear up for SEC play.
