UGA’s head coach is being called a wizard after correctly predicting the outcome of the Bulldogs’ most recent game. In the contest, Kirby Smart provided his players with a prophetic halftime speech in an eventual win over South Carolina.

The Dawgs trailed that contest by two scores at the midway point, but he spoke the final result into existence. Smart’s words are now going viral on social media.

Georgia took on border rival South Carolina last Saturday, falling behind early in the matchup. The Gamecocks found the endzone twice in the first half to build a 14-3 lead at the break.

Kirby Smart didn’t flinch, telling his players exactly how the second half of play would go. And he’d be right.

“We’re going to get about six possessions on offense,” Smart started. “We’re going to score on four of them. They might score once more on our defense, but that’s it. We’re going to win the game and we’re going to come back in here and have a good time.”

That was nearly identical to what played out on the field.

Georgia scored three touchdowns on those second half possessions, missing a field goal to make the head coach’s prediction just one score shy. The Bulldogs would also hold the Gamecocks scoreless over the final 30 minutes to win, 24-14.

A number of fans saw Kirby Smart’s halftime speech and quickly reacted online.

“As a Gamecock fan I hate this because they did exactly that. As a football fan I love this because they did exactly that,” one fan wrote.

“Kirby really is a wizard,” someone else said.

“Coach Smart is a treasure,” another follower commented. “Not only was he effective in his analysis of how the game would flow, but he also delivered brilliant leadership… Not surprising UGA is such a powerhouse.”

Georgia is hoping to win a third straight title to become the first major college program to do so since Minnesota in 1936. Kirby Smart might just speak that into existence, too.
