Kirk Herbstreit has racked up the travel miles this year, flying all over the country for football matchups. Working Thursday Night Football in the NFL before making his way to the ESPN GameDay set each week, he’s constantly on the move.
This week is no different. In fact, the total distance over the next four days comes close to setting his season record.
Herbstreit begins his trek with a trip to Dallas where he’ll watch the Cowboys take on the Seahawks. From his home in Ohio, that’s an 813-mile journey.
After the pro game wraps up, it’s all college football.
The PAC 12 Championship is in Las Vegas on Friday, a 1,069-mile flight from Dallas. Then, it’s off to the East Coast for the SEC title matchup.
Go ahead and add another 1,742 miles to the flight log.
By the time he returns home to Cincinnati, he will have traveled just under 4,000 miles.

That won’t quite match his 4,875-mile journey from two weeks ago, but it certainly shows his dedication to the job.
And his best bud Ben will be with him the whole way!

Ben has been at the football analyst’s side all season, making appearances online and on the field as the duo hits every stop. He enjoyed his welcome to the “Big D,” taking in the Pat McAfee Show from the hotel.

The busy weekend comes off the heels of rivalry week in college football where Herbstreit was on hand for the 67th edition of Florida-Florida State. The beloved pup even gained field access!

The trips will soon come to an end, at least on the college side of things as the season winds down. Herbstreit will still be on the Thursday night calls with Al Michaels in the NFL, so Ben should get a few more flight under his belt.
