The New York Knicks championship parade will be held in Manhattan today, and the streets are already packed hours before the celebration is scheduled to kick off.

With their NBA Finals win over the San Antonio Spurs — they won the series 4-1 — the New York Knicks are celebrating the franchise’s first championship since 1973.

Knicks fans were lining the streets of New York City multiple hours before the championship parade was set to begin

In the early hours of Thursday, June 18, New Yorkers were seen lining the streets hours before the parade officially began at 10 a.m. EST.

Around 7:30 a.m., the official X/Twitter account for the New York Police Department announced that all of the viewing pens for the parade have been filled.

“All viewing pens are full. No one else will be allowed in the viewing area. As a reminder, if you leave the viewing pens, you will not be allowed reentry. There are no trains stopping south of Canal St in Manhattan,” the NYPD announced.

According to NYC.gov, the championship parade will begin at Bowling Green in Lower Manhattan and travel straight north along Broadway through the “Canyon of Heroes” before culminating at City Hall, where Mayor Zohran Mamdani will present the Knicks with the ceremonial Key to the City.
