Milwaukee Bucks guard Kyle Kuzma was critical of Mayor Mamdani on social media
Milwaukee Bucks guard Kyle Kuzma went viral on social media over the weekend for his criticism of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani. Kuzma was called out for using AI to write the tweet.
According to Kyle Kuzma, who the Brooklyn Nets drafted with the 27th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft (and immediately traded to the Lakers), New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is “playing President.”

Kuzma wrote the tweet in response to Mayor Mamdani’s video calling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a war criminal, which has racked up over 100 million views on X/Twitter and over 116 million views on Instagram from his posts alone.
“This is 2026. People cosplaying as things they don’t have the authority, the talent, or the track record to actually be. Just for content. A mayor playing president. A founder playing operator. A content creator playing one-on-one thinking he’s a pro. A 25yr old with a ring light playing economist. Everyone auditioning. Nobody building,” Kuzma tweeted.
“Were raising a generation that learning the reward isn’t in doing the thing it’s in looking like you did the thing. The clip is the career. The pose is the product. The soundbite is the substitute for a life’s work. Don’t fall for distractions.”

Given the cadence of the prose and the metaphors used, Kuzma was immediately accused of using AI to write the tweet criticizing Mayor Mamdani, leading to him admitting that “all of his tweets are AI sourced.”
All my tweets are AI sourced from Chatgpt, guys. You got me. Let me just shut up and dribble 🫠🫠🫠

Last week, Mayor Mamdani released a video address stating that “Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal” while citing specific allegations from the war in Gaza such as amputations without anesthesia, attacks on aid workers and journalists, and other acts described as crimes against humanity.
Mamdani released the video after legal review confirmed that New York City lacks the authority to arrest Netanyahu under the 2024 ICC warrant when he visits the city in September for the UN General Assembly.
