The 2022 season for the Arizona Cardinals never got off the train tracks. The disaster started before the season even started, when star wideout Deandre Hopkins was suspended for PED’s. He missed the first six games for Kliff Kingsbruy’s team and they went 2-4 in that stretch.
They got their record back to 4-6 after alternating wins and losses in their next four games. But, they had lost two in a row going into a crucial Monday Night game against the Patriots. It was a must-win game for them to hang on to any semblance of playoff hopes. But, what happened was much worse than a loss.
Arizona Cardinals Quarterback Kyler Murray Suffered A Severe Injury
Less than two minutes into the football game, Murray did what he does best and took off with the football. But, he did not get back up.

And, ESPN’s Josh Weinfuss reported things seem bad, with a torn ACL almost certain.
Cardinals QB Kyler Murray is expected to have an MRI tomorrow but there is "little doubt that it’s torn," a source told me, referring to the quarterback's ACL.

It stinks that the injury is so severe. Kyler has always been dinged up due to his style of play. But, he’s avoided a serious injury like this. Technology regarding ACL Tear recovery has improved tremendously, but it’s still a blow considering how much he uses his mobility. If it is an ACL tear, he will miss all the offseason activities and it will be close whether he could get back for their opening game next year.
There is one bright side for the Arizona Cardinals, though. Their season is already over at 4-9. Losing more games only helps ensure a roster with a lot of holes gets a high draft pick in what should be an excellent top half of the first round.
Arizona will take on another terrible team, the Denver Broncos, next week.
The Patriots won the game 27-13.
