Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe is considered by many to be the best soccer player in the world. The Frenchman and former PSG star has been a household name in much of the world since his teens for his incredible speed and goal-scoring abililty.
But, Sunday will leave a black mark on his career forever. Mbappe unleashed a horrific tackle in the team’s La Liga match against Alaves and was immediately shown a red card.
Mbappe is in his first season with Real Madrid after moving on from PSG last summer. Real Madrid had coveted the 26-year-old on their wishlist for years. Mbappe has been good, scoring 32 goals in all competitions so far this year. But, the team results have not been great. They trail FC Barcelona in La Liga, and are down 3-0 to Arsenal after one leg of the Champions League quarterfinals.
That’s simply not up to Real Madrid’s standards, and maybe players are getting frustrated, including Kylian Mbappe. Check out this tackle.

That is an outrageous tackle, is clearly a red card, and is absolutely a dirty player. As far as I know, Mbappe doesn’t have a reputation for this kind of dirty play, with only three career red cards, but that was definitely dirty.
After the match, Davide Ancellotti, the son of the manager, Carlo, said that Mbappe was sorry for the foul, but that it was due to him having suffered a bunch of minor fouls throughout the game.
Real Madrid did pick up a crucial 1-0 win.
