Jason Kelce had himself a day at the Bills-Chiefs game in Buffalo last weekend, and his wife says the scene he caused in the luxury suite inside the stadium was the result of him being unable to destroy a folding table before heading inside.
You’d be hard-pressed to find an NFL fanbase that’s mastered the art of the pregame tailgate quite like the rowdy group of revelers known as “Bills Mafia,” and Jason Kelce got the chance to experience some of their traditions firsthand when he went to watch Travis face off against Buffalo in the AFC Divisional round.
The Eagles center was filmed ripping a shot of Polish cherry liqueur out of a bowling ball before making his way into Highmark Stadium, and he appeared to help himself to more than a few Labatt Lights while getting very rowdy in (and outside of) the box he shared with Taylor Swift while watching the contest.
Now, we have some more insight into what transpired on Sunday courtesy of Kylie Kelce.
On Friday, his wife of close to six years stopped by Good Morning America for an interview where she got the chance to shed some light on his decision to rip off his shirt and leap out of the suite during the contest, which she implied was the result of some pent-up energy stemming from his inability to partake in a sacred Buffalo Bills tradition.
Kylie Kelce shares her reaction to @JasonKelce’s viral shirtless moment at Bills-Chiefs game: “The first time he jumped out of the suite, I was like, you know what? Go ahead. That's my husband. The second and third time he did it I was like, I'm gonna need you to get back in.” pic.twitter.com/0c66bix4z6

Here’s what she had to say:
“He desperately wanted to go through a table. It was on his checklist for the day. Top priority of the day: go through table.
He did not get a chance to do that, and so when he came into the suite—we arrived separately because he was meeting up with some friends and walking through the parking lot, I think, hoping to find himself a table, he was unsuccessful.
So when he got into the suite, he said to me, ‘I’m gonna take my shirt off and I’m gonna jump out’ and I was like, ‘I don’t think that’s the best idea,’ but I think that it was that continued energy from when he was hyping himself up to break a table.”
It’s kind of a shame we weren’t treated to a video of the 295 lb. offensive lineman obliterating a folding table, but at least we got some other highlights as a result.
