Outside of the Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat, everybody else is preparing for the upcoming offseason.

With that said, rumors of LeBron James and Kyrie Irving rejoining as teammates continue to float around the rumor mill.

However, there may be some legitimacy, as it sounds like the two superstars have been discussing the idea with one another.

According to Shams Charania, Kyrie Irving is reportedly talking with LeBron James about possibly joining forces and playing for the Dallas Mavericks.

Irving was traded to Dallas before the trade deadline in the middle of the 2022-23 season. He’s currently a free agent, but many believe he’ll opt to remain with the Mavs.

This is a bit of a curveball for NBA fans, as most of the rumors involving these two have centered around the idea that Irving would join James in playing for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Additionally, this would be an incredibly difficult move to pull off. Dallas would have to re-sign Kyrie Irving and trade for LeBron James, all while finding a way to keep Luka Doncic on the roster.

But could you imagine those three teaming up? The Mavs would become immediate championship contenders.

With that said, there is plenty of time between now and the offseason. We still have the NBA Finals to pay attention to.

So, any big offseason moves will have to wait until after that. Even so, this is probably a situation to continue to monitor. Especially considering James is nearing the end of his career.
