The NBA trade deadline has come and gone, and the Los Angeles Lakers didn’t make a trade.

According to various reports, the Lakers didn’t like what they saw on the trade market and instead decided to stand pat with their current team.

Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes says the team will look in the offseason to trade for another star while armed with three first-round picks.

LA Times’ Brad Turner has been told the team will be aggressive in the buyout market for a veteran player, and they are also still hopeful the team can contend while healthy.

Free agents Spencer Dinwiddie, Marcus Morris, Kyle Lowry, and Robin Lopez are the top candidates for the Lakers to pick up from the buyout market.

The Lakers are currently ranked 9th in the West and would have to battle it out in a play-in game to make the NBA playoffs if the season ended today.
