Mandy Rose isn’t the only WWE superstar who has found herself in some hot water this week. Lacey Evans, real name Macey Estrella, felt the ire of fans on Tuesday after making an ill-advised social media post.

Evans posted a video on Instagram which spouts false conspiracy theories about autism and attention deficit disorder (ADD). The clip promotes misinformation about processed foods and GMOs, claiming there is a link between them and ADD and autism.

She later removed the video after receiving much backlash.

In response to being called out by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com, Evans wrote back in a since deleted tweet, “I watched a video on the impact of processed food is having on our children and I shared the video. Y’all are insane.”

Despite her explanation and Evans removing the video, many WWE fans weren’t satisfied.

One fan pointed out that after her explanation Lacey Evans went on to like a tweet which read, “Hey now, don’t take away someone’s desire to feel offended.”

Another fan was reminded of the fact that Lacey Evans had appeared in an ad with her daughter promoting corn dogs, a processed food.

Many other fans also let her have it and continued to do so, well after she had deleted the video.

“It’s just sad that people think this way,” someone else tweeted. “Science and technology have improved and that is why more people over the years are being diagnosed with conditions. That doesn’t mean they didn’t exist previously, it means we didn’t have the ability to properly identify them.”

“Well there goes ALL respect I had for her! Don’t come after the community I work with!” another responded.

Lacey Evans, a former military police officer in the Marines, has been with WWE since 2016, working for their NXT brand for three years and since 2019 on Raw and SmackDown.

Marca reports that Evans has only competed three times in the past four months for WWE, with two of those matches being in September. It will be interesting to see how much longer she’s off TV after this kerfuffle.
