5-Star Louisiana Football Recruit Subtly Shades LSU After Enraging Fans With Mixed Signals

Brown is currently going through the process of official visits before making his pledge on July 10th. He’ll be at LSU this weekend, though there was initially some doubt as to whether or not he’d make it to campus.

The Tigers are the hometown program. Brown plays his high school ball minutes down the road in Baton Rouge. LSU has been the favorite to land his commitment since Day 1, but others are making things more difficult.

Back in April, the five-prospect scheduled his visits. On the books were USC, Florida State, and Texas A&M as well as the Tigers.

LSU got the luxury of being the last visit, which is often a good sign in terms of commitment success. The program will have the chance to leave a lasting impression just before the lineman makes his decision.

On Sunday, however, noise about a cancelled trip was heard on social media. It was being reported that Lamar Brown had changed his mind on his official visit.

Those reports enraged LSU fans, whom Brown has already shaded once in the recruitment process. “It’s crazy how fans talk about you but want you to ‘stay home,'” he wrote on X earlier this offseason.

He added to that shade this week.

Lamar Brown took another shot at the Tigers while doing his best to nix any rumors about his recruitment. The second thoughts about his official visit weren’t for clicks. He’s truly trying to find the best spot for him.

LSU, again, is the closest school. Rather than waste an official on a trip up the road, he could use it to see another interested program located further away. He could then use an unofficial visit to see the Baton Rouge campus. The Tigers might not be able to roll out the red carpet, but they’d at least have one more shot at making their pitch.

Despite that potential thought process, Brown received backlash. He responded on social media on Monday. Here’s what he had to say.

Y’all don’t understand the lifestyle God blessed me with today. Not just only me but for recruits the recruiting process can be stressful because we can go ANYWHERE in the country. What I post does NOT BE FOR ATTENTION. I’m 17 years old and only get to experience this one time.

One day after those initial reports of a cancelled visit to LSU surfaced, Brown appeared to reverse course. He now plans to spend his weekend in Baton Rouge.

With that being said, a few crystal ball predictions have started to roll in for the 5-star athlete, and it seems the Texas A&M Aggies are picking up steam.

LSU will do what it can to fend off its SEC rival while attempting to convince Brown to stay put. The lineman is scheduled to make his college commitment in less than a month.
