“It’s always been a dream of mine since I was a little kid, since I first started playing Madden,” Jackson said according to ESPN. “It’s dope. I have every Madden. To me to be on the front of it, it’s a dream come true.”

Whenever the news of the next Madden cover athlete is announced, many people’s minds immediately go to the Madden curse. Patrick Mahomes was on the cover of Madden 20 a year ago and while he may have suffered a gruesome knee injury during the regular season, he ended up disproving the Madden curse by hoisting the Lombardi Trophy.

Jackson was quick to point out that exact scenario when asked about the curse and he’s ready to welcome that version of it with open arms.

“Patrick Mahomes is on the front and he won [Super Bowl] MVP,” Jackson said. “I want that curse. I hope that’s a curse.”

The Baltimore quarterback is the first Raven to grace the cover of Madden since Ray Lewis was the cover athlete on Madden 2005.
