LaMelo Ball might be looked at as the next great superstar hoopster in the Ball family, but the teenager — who has performed well at the Drew League so far this summer — might want to try and avoid dunking on people in the near future. That’s because LaMelo’s latest attempt during a game over the weekend wasn’t just rejected, it was manhandled, which led to a viral video that caught plenty of attention from people.

With LaMelo Ball playing against grown-ass men in the Drew League, with some even having NBA experience, the 17-year-old was quickly reminded that he’s still got some maturing to do, because former Kansas guard Brannen Greene totally denied Ball at the rim. Take a look at the video below.

Yikes. Don’t come around here with that soft stuff, LaMelo, otherwise you might end up being totally mocked on the Internet — which, obviously, happened once people saw the youngest Ball brother get his shit denied during the game. Here are some Twitter reactions to the play.

It was more than just the impressive rejection from Greene, but the shit-talking to LaMelo afterwards that makes this one of those “damn, bro” moments. Not sure what Greene said, but I’m sure it was along the lines of, “I wasn’t letting that shit happen on me.” Still, the fact that LaMelo’s only 17 and is even balling in the Drew League is impressive AF, so I’m sure he didn’t sweat this block too much.

Considering Big Baller Brand is, uh, not particularly doing too well at the moment, it’s hard for people to avoid layering on hate towards LaMelo Ball, his brothers and his outspoken dad, Lavar Ball. And, while LaMelo is a top prospect who could end up being a first-round pick in next year’s NBA Draft, for now, he’s just another dude who went viral for getting his shit swatted for the Internet to see. Something tells me the kid will bounce back just fine, though.
