Lane Johnson is the ultimate warrior on the football field, and this postseason, he’ll show that desire to compete with his teammates as the Eagles pursue a Super Bowl title.

The offensive lineman is laying it all on the line, reportedly putting off surgery to a torn leg muscle in order to suit up for the playoffs. And fans couldn’t be more impressed by the big man’s will to win.

Lane Johnson is already a fan favorite in the City of Brotherly Love. This is the man that offered to buy everyone in Philly a beer if the Eagles win a championship. Now, he’s hoping to make good on that promise and lead his team to the pinnacle of NFL.

Philadelphia wouldn’t be where they are without him. The 10-year veteran has spent each of his professional seasons with the Eagles, and he anchors an offensive line that’s helped produce the league’s fourth-best rushing attack. Unfortunately, an injury to the tackle will keep him out of the lineup as the regular season comes to a close.

But with the Eagles currently sitting at 13-2 on the season and holding the No. 1 seed in the upcoming playoffs, Lane Johnson’s not planning on shutting it down. Instead, he’ll forego surgery on a torn adductor in order to play in the postseason.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday that the Pro Bowler plans to be available come playoff time.

After consulting with numerous experts, including Dr. William Meyers in Philly, Eagles Pro Bowl OT Lane Johnson will put off surgery on his torn adductor to rehab for two (or three) weeks and will play in the playoffs, sources say. Wild.

The adductors are a group of muscles mostly used for bringing the thighs together. As the name suggests their primarily function is to adduct the femur at the hip joint. The injury can make it difficult to push off or change direction on that leg, which is a significant key for success along the offensive line.

Johnson plans to play through the pain, and it has fans in awe of his grit and determination. Take a look at the initial reaction online.

One person wrote, “Can’t imagine how Lane is going to play through this… Absolute legend if he can pull this off and be effective.” Another fan said, “A man’s man. Sheesh. Forever a dog.”

If Lane Johnson is able to play effectively in spite of the injury, it will give the Eagles a huge boost on offense. He’s certainly doing everything in his power to bring a title home to Philly.
