Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin is no stranger to online trolling, often taking ambiguous jabs at SEC rivals. He’s been particularly active this offseason, making references towards Auburn, Alabama, and Texas A&M over the last few weeks.

The Crimson Tide was again his target on Wednesday as he sent fear into the minds of #RollTideNation with a simple tweet.

Alabama fans are going through it at the moment given the abrupt retirement of Nick Saban. With their fearless leader moving on from the program, many aren’t sure where to turn.

The university moved swiftly in finding his replacement, Washington’s Kalen DeBoer, but it’s currently feeling the repercussions of its first head coaching change in nearly two decades.

Not only is Alabama transitioning into its next era, but it’s having to do so in a new college football landscape.

The transfer portal rules the sport, and this offseason marks the busiest ‘free agent’ market in its existence. After being able to evade the issues seen at most other schools the last few years, the Tide is now facing a mass exodus of its own.

Rival fans don’t feel much sympathy for a program that’s won six national titles over the last 15 seasons, but those in Tuscaloosa are still coping with the recent reality check.

Twenty-five players from last year’s squad have entered the transfer portal, with the latest departures being maybe the most impactful.

Former five-star OL Kadyn Proctor and Freshman All-American defender Caleb Downs are reported to be exploring their options, and Lane Kiffin could be looking to pounce!

He posted a photo of a street sign in Tuscaloosa, just outside the Alabama campus on Wednesday – which many immediately took as an insinuation that he’s trying to reel some talent into Ole Miss.

Crimson Tide fans melted down in the comments section.

“What business do you have here????”

“Lane… you finna piss me off.”

“Please leave us alone Lane. We’ve had enough.”

“Stay away Joey Freshwater.”

“Leave us alone to suffer in peace!”

Eyes on a potential target or just playing on the emotion of his followers?

Time will tell, but one thing is for sure – everyone is reveling in the uncertainty surrounding a program that’s ruled college football. That includes Lane Kiffin!
