Disgraced former US Gymnastics physician and serial predator Larry Nassar was sentenced to 60 years in prison beginning in 2017. He then received an additional 40 to 175 years on his sentence in January 2018 and in February another 40 to 125 years was added on.

With up to 360 years on his sentences, Larry Nassar is never getting out of prison alive. On Sunday evening, the Associated Press reported Nassar had been attacked by a fellow inmate in a Florida prison and stabbed several times.

The AP report says:

Two people familiar with the matter told The Associated Press the attack happened Sunday at United States Penitentiary Coleman. The people said he was in stable condition Monday.

One of the people said Nassar had been stabbed in the back and in the chest. The people were not authorized to publicly discuss details of the attack or the ongoing investigation and spoke to the AP on the condition of anonymity.

Nassar is currently in a federal prison in Florida, United States Penitentiary Coleman, which is just south of The Villages. Following his sentence in federal custody he will be transferred to Michigan where he will serve out the rest of his life in state prison.

Prior to being transferred to United States Penitentiary Coleman in Florida, Nassar had been locked up in Eaton County Jail in Charlotte, Michigan and a federal penitentiary in Tucson, Arizona.

However, it was determined he ‘could not be safely held‘ in Tucson after he was assaulted shortly after arriving there and an investigation determined that he had to be moved.

Nassar was accused of and convicted of some of the most heinous crimes imaginable.
