Over the past six months, Major League Baseball has seen three of its bigger stars, two of them still in their twenties, finding themselves effectively banned from the league over alleged off the field incidents.

In March, 2020 National League Cy Young Award winner Trevor Bauer, 32, was forced to sign with a team in the Japanese League as he was released by the Dodgers and not one of the 31 other MLB teams made him an acceptable offer after serving a 194 game suspension.

Five months later, 22-year-old Wander Franco, who played in the 2023 MLB All-Star Game, was placed on the Tampa Bay Rays’ restricted list and put on administrative leave by Major League Baseball over an alleged relationship with a minor.

Less than a month later, in September, another Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher, 27-year-old Julio Urias, was placed on administrative leave by Major League Baseball after allegedly committing domestic violence at one of Lionel Messi’s soccer games in Los Angeles.

The 2022 National League leader in ERA was arrested and charged with felony domestic violence. Urias had previously been suspended for 20 games for violating MLB’s domestic violence policy in 2019.

While the Dodgers have scrubbed any connection to Urias online and in their ballpark, players on the team have, according to Kike Hernandez, been left in the dark as to where he is or what is going on with him.

Now, however, very disturbing details surrounding the arrest of Julio Urias are being leaked by law enforcement in Los Angeles.

On Monday, TMZ reported that police stated the woman who was allegedly assaulted by Urias “had blood coming out of her nose” and “had strangulation marks on her as well as redness on her face.”

The woman was allegedly upset with Urias for taking photos with female fans at the soccer game and tried to leave the venue, Urias “came up from behind her, put his arm around her, slammed her against a fence, and pulled her hair.”

Law enforcement sources tell us Urias then allegedly swung at her … though it’s not yet known if he landed a punch. We’re told Urias’ entourage then broke up the apparent scuffle — but when Urias and the woman later got into a car service, cops say they were told something further may have gone down between the couple.

Police say they are still interviewing witnesses and searching for additional video of the incident.

Julio Urias signed a one-year, $14.25 million contract with the Dodgers in January for the 2023 season, his last year of being eligible for salary arbitration. He will be a free agent next offseason.
