There seems to be some sort of officiating crisis everywhere you turn in the sports world these days.

Just yesterday in Major League Baseball, New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone was tossed by umpire Hunter Wendelstedt after a fan yelled something from the crowd. There is also the ongoing issue with infamous ump Angel Hernandez and his consistently terrible calls.

In the Premier League, Nottingham Forest became the latest club to take action against the league’s refs, joining the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, and countless managers that have questioned the competency of the officials.

And now the NBA has joined the party as a pair of games on Monday, April 22 sparked referring controversies.

The first came in Game 2 between the Knicks and 76ers, with Embiid calling out the refs after the game and the organization stating they plan to file a grievance with the NBA.

Then, a few hours later, LeBron James questioned and cursed out the refs in his postgame press conference, saying he “doesn’t understand what’s going on in the replay center.”

“I don’t understand what’s going on in the replay center, to be honest… What the f— do we have a replay center… Makes no sense to me. It bothers me,” LeBron said after the Lakers’ 101-99 loss to the Denver Nuggets.

Following their Game 2 loss to the defending champion Nuggets, LeBron, Anthony Davis and the rest of the Los Angeles Lakers now face a must-win game in order to avoid falling into an 0-3 hole. Game 3 of the Lakers-Nuggets series will tip off in Los Angeles on Thursday, April 25 at 10 p.m. EST.
