A Kid At A Children’s Hospital Asked LeBron James To Dunk On Lonzo Ball For Christmas

LeBron James might have briefly abandoned the city of Cleveland during his stint with the Miami Heat, but the Akron native has always had a special place in his heart for the state of Ohio. The superstar donated all the money he made for the publicity stunt known as The Decision to the Boys and Girls Club of America and recently started a foundation that will eventually pay for the college education of over 1,000 kids.

On Wednesday, James continued to show off his charitable side when he paid a visit to Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital on Wednesday and met with a fan named Andrew, who said he had one Christmas wish: For James to dunk on Lonzo Ball. The Cavalier immediately replied “I got you”— although he suggested he might not be able to fulfill the wish if Ball heads for the hills when he sees him charging down the lane.

The Lakers will face off against the Cavs tonight in Cleveland, so there’s a chance Christmas could come early for Andrew if James manages to live up to his promise.

Despite mocking Ball’s shot before a game this season, the two actually have a fairly good relationship off the court. James wished Ball a happy birthday on Twitter over the summer (causing the internet to freak out in the process) and has tried to get him to defect from Big Baller Brand in favor of Nike.

It’s worth noting James does have a contentious relationship with LaVar Ball, who sparked a feud back in March when he suggested James’ offspring would grow up to be “whack” at basketball— a statement that elicited a fiery comeback.

Given how much the elder Ball hypes his son, I can’t think of a sweeter form of revenge than putting his oldest child on a poster.
