LeBron James has yet to announce where he will continue his legendary NBA career but the Miami Heat seem hopeful that he will end up back in the 305. They either got way ahead of themselves or accidentally leaked his decision on YouTube.
An introductory press conference was scheduled for July 27.
The NBA organization claims it was a mistake. That may be true. OR the team is covering its tracks. Will this change his mind?
LeBron James is down to four NBA teams.
At 41 years old, the four-time NBA champion and four-time MVP has one or two years left in his career. Maybe three.
However, LeBron James will not finish things out with the Los Angeles Lakers. He decided to seek a new opportunity as a free agent. (Or an old opportunity?) He is supposedly down to four teams.
The Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers and Golden State Warriors seem to be the four teams in consideration. His agent, Rich Paul, has said repeatedly that there is no rush to the decision. James is going to take his time. It is on his terms.
“I don’t know when his choice is going to be made. It could be 48 seconds, it could be 48 minutes. I don’t know. Again, you can’t make somebody know something they don’t know.”
As a result of the uncertainty, the internet continues to run wild with all kinds of rumors and speculation. Every little detail that could possibly be a hint at James’ decision has exploded into front-page headlines. ESPN accidentally mislabeled a podcast title last week, which sent Warriors friends into a frenzy. Paul told ESPN that his Hall of Fame client made up his mind on a new team and then changed it again as recently as this week.

The Miami Heat posted an introductory press conference on YouTube.
NBA sleuths discovered an unusual video posted to the Miami Heat YouTube channel on late Tuesday night. It implied that LeBron James was going to sign with the team. He was going to be introduced at a press conference on July 27.
It was confirmed as real.

The video was quickly removed from the channel after the thumbnail went viral on social media. Poof! It is gone.
When asked about the video, the Miami Heat said it was an accident. The video only exists to prepare for the possibility. Never was it supposed to go live. Never was it supposed to be made public.
The team spokesperson said that there is currently no validity to the video. James has not informed the team that he is returning.
This could mean one of two things. Either LeBron James told the Heat that he is going to sign with the team and the team posted the video by accident and spoiled his plans or it was actually a big mistake. And in either case, James is the type of guy who wants the decision to be on his own terms. NBA fans could see him changing his mind completely just because of this video.
