On Tuesday, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster decided to follow in the footsteps of Sixers and Cavs fans who have been trying to steer LeBron James in their direction when he becomes a free agent.
Smith-Schuster didn’t go the billboard route, but he did utilize some deft graphic design work to try to recruit James to come play for his Steelers.
Announcing my official campaign to recruit @KingJames to the Pittsburgh Steelers for the 2018 season. LeBron has done everything in the NBA. He can be the best athlete EVER if he makes the move to the NFL and wins a Super Bowl with Steeler Nation… #LeBronToPittsburgh pic.twitter.com/5VLcjIPpSO

He even appeared on Undisputed to state his case for LeBron…
While there is little doubt that James has both the athleticism and the body to have had a pretty good shot at being successful in the NFL, today LBJ responded that he was afraid he is going to have to pass on Smith-Schuster’s very flattering offer.

“I’m fine with my sport I got. It’s pretty funny though,” said the now 15-year NBA veteran. “I’ve seen some of the edits that they had me in a Steelers uniform. But I like tank tops and shorts, I’m sorry. I’ve tried the shoulder pads and it was fun while it lasted. But I’m a tank top and shorts guy.”
At 33-years-old, that’s probably the wise decision at this point.
