Could LeBron James consider retiring this offseason?

On Monday night, James and the Lakers were bounced from the playoffs despite LeBron scoring 40 points in game 4 of the Western Conference Finals against the Nuggets.

When asked about his future, LeBron made it sound like he may contemplate retirement this offseason.

“We’ll see what happens going forward, I don’t know, I got a lot to think about to be honest just for me personally when it comes to the game of basketball.”

Update: Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes confirmed that LeBron is considering retirement.

James is expected to take his time in deciding if he’ll return for Year 21. He has two years, $97 million remaining on his contract, but the final year is a player option.
