Sweaty LeBron James Put His Arm Around Kate Middleton Which Is A Total No-No

The Duke and Dutchess of Cambridge were in Brooklyn last night to watch the Nets take on LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. It was a superbig deal to everyone except Lionel Hollins.

After the Cavs’ easy victory, James was afforded an audience with Will and Kate. The best player in basketball wasted no time breaking proper royal family protocol by putting his arm around Middleton.

Bro. You can’t do that. The royals are like priceless painting in museums — to be admired from afar.

Etiquette expert (a real thing) broke it down for the Mail Online:

He said: ‘Although I am sure the Duchess of Cambridge won’t have worried about it, Mr James should not have put his arm around her.

‘Americans are much more tactile than we Brits and this is another example of an American being too touchy feely with British royalty. You’d have think they’d have learned by now.’

James joins grabby American Michelle Obama in committing the faux pas. So … pretty good company.

The breach of protocol was quickly smoothed over by a well-timed shoe-size joke.

[James] then asked William what size shoes he wore, to which the Prince replied, ‘Half the size of yours,’ while pointing at the star’s huge feet.

The Duchess promptly burst into a fit of giggles, before brushing her hair back from her face as she attempted to regain her posture.

You know what they say about people with big shoes: They’re able to touch spots most others can’t.
