Former NFL running back LeGarrette Blount was no stranger to violent controversy during his playing career. In college, he infamously threw punches after Oregon’s game against Boise State which led to a suspension, an incident that would be inextricably linked to his legacy.
LeGarrette Blount then went on to win three Super Bowls with the New England Patriots and had a lengthy career that included leading the NFL in rushing TDs in 2016. Blount retired in 2020 and has mostly fallen out of the public eye until these disturbing videos surfaced.
Disturbing videos appear to show LeGarrette Blount throwing punches at a dad and chasing a kid during a youth football game.
According to LBS, this was a game between LeGarrette Blount’s GCYFC Gators and the Chandler Elite Bears. That game took place last weekend. Blount is wearing the black shirt here and can be seen throwing punches at a dad and chasing a kid at one point:

This video is the one where he’s allegedly chasing a kid. The video evidence here isn’t great but if it is what it purports to be it’s very disturbing:

The infamous incident at Oregon
I mentioned the Boise State incident above from LeGarrette Blount’s days with the Oregon Ducks. If you’ve never seen that footage, here it is:
In his defense, that was 13 years ago. Many people change. They grow up and mature. But those videos above from this youth football game are DISTURBING.
LeGarrette Blount issues a statement
In the aftermath of all this, LeGarrette Blount issued a statement on Twitter:
“As a leader, coach, father and a role model I understand my actions are unacceptable. I hope and pray for your understanding and forgiveness and plan to continue to be a positive impact in the lives of our youth…. Regardless of that, I take full responsibility for my part in it and for putting myself in this situation.”
