Liberty head coach Jamey Chadwell threw some hilarious shade at Michigan amid the program’s sign stealing scandal. Chadwell saw some Wolverine fans in the stands during his team’s most recent game, insinuating that they were on hand to film the Flames.

Liberty faced off against Western Kentucky in a little Tuesday night action, providing viewers with some midweek entertainment. The Flames landed a 42-29 win over the Hilltoppers to move to 8-0 on the year.

Chadwell’s team remains undefeated and one of the nation’s top Group of Five programs. He has sights set on a New Year’s Six bowl game appearance.

While that success has been impressive, the story of the college football season has been Michigan.

Jim Harbaugh’s group is also 8-0, sitting at No. 2 in the latest AP Poll.

The Wolverines are on bye this weekend, but that hasn’t kept them out of the headlines. An alleged sign stealing operation has taken the sports world by storm over the last week.

Reports claim that a staff member, Connor Stalions, sent plants to various Big Ten venues to “scout” future conference opponents. He also purchased tickets to matchups involving potential College Football Playoff contenders outside the B1G.

That scouting involved filming the sidelines in hopes of gathering intel on opposing gameplans.

Michigan fans attend Liberty game leading Jamey Chadwell to troll.

Chadwell spotted some UM gear in the seats at his most recent outing, taking the opportunity to shade the Wolverines.

“Is it me or is this sus that there are Michigan fans on the 50-yard line tonight to see the Flames?” the head coach posted on his X timeline.

Others in attendance joined in on the fun.

Scouting another CFP contender??

Not likely. While the Flames are currently undefeated, they’ve yet to crack the Top 25. Still, a major bowl game could be in Liberty’s future should they continue to play at a high level.

Jokes aside, the Michigan sign stealing operation continues to cause concern.

Some have gone as far as to demand a bowl ban while others predict sportsbooks could soon wipe them from the board.

The investigation into the program is still ongoing. We’ll see what else turns up, and how it affects the Wolverines moving forward.
