Damian Lillard is one of the greatest scoring point guards to ever play in the NBA. And, Sunday night, he proved that once again.

The Weber State product has already had huge games in his career, and had four career 60 point games heading into Sunday’s game against the Rockets. He had 60 points earlier this year against the Jazz back in January.

And, on Sunday night, Lillard went nuclear again, taking it to a level he never has before.

Wow. 71 points ties Lillard for the 8th-biggest scoring game of all-time.

He was tremendous. His first half was especially incredible. The sharpshooter simply could not miss.

And, he “only” had 30 in the 2nd half, as he got to a remarkable 71, including 13 threes, second most of all-time. Lillard is the only Blazer to ever score 60 points in a game. Surprisingly, the player with the most points in a game for the franchise that is not Dame is another “Dame” in Damon Stoudamire.

NBA Twitter was understandably going crazy about the legendary performance.

You know that I had to take a shot at Ben Simmons before I was done.

Portland won, 131-114.
