At one point in his NBA career, Jordan Poole had to feel like he was on top of the world.
Poole was a key piece of the Golden State Warriors team that won the 2022 NBA Championship, and signed a four-year contract extension worth $123 million and $17 million in incentives with the team.
However, it quickly came crumbling down.
Shortly before the contract was announced, Poole got into a practice altercation with Warriors’ star forward Draymond Green. When footage of the incident eventually came out, it showed Green shoving Poole up against a wall before punching him in the face.
Green never truly expressed genuine remorse for the incident. And from that point on, neither Golden State nor Poole’s career has been the same.
On July 6, 2023, the Warriors traded Poole, once thought of as a key piece of the franchise moving forward, and more to the Washington Wizards in exchange for Chris Paul.
Poole’s game seemingly fell off a cliff in Washington and he quickly became the butt of several jokes across the basketball world.
Jordan Poole Is Still Being Forced To Talk About Draymond Green
These days, Poole is a member of the New Orleans Pelicans after he was traded prior to the start of the 2025-26 season.
Recently, Poole and his teammates attended a local school to speak with students, one of whom had a hilarious question for the NBA star.
@thechurenmommy Kids don’t care what they ask they just want answers 😂😂🤦🏾♀️ he loves Jordan Poole and watches videos on him and unfortunately he saw the punch 😂😂🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️ #jordanpoole #fyp #kidsbelike #pelicansnba #neworleanspelicans
“How did it feel when Draymond punched you?” the kid asked.
To his credit, Poole kept calm and answered.
“It was tough, bro,” he said, briefly turning away as well.
Now, listen, the kid who asked looked like he couldn’t have been any older than seven or eight years old. He didn’t know what he was doing.
But it was funny nonetheless.
And poor Jordan Poole can’t seem to escape one of the worst moments of his NBA career, regardless of where he’s at.
