Little Rock advanced to the Super Regional round of the college baseball postseason for the first time in program history as a No. 4 seed. The Trojans showed the utmost respect in victory.
They celebrated with their bus driver, Kevin, as if he was in the starting lineup.
There are a lot of great stories coming out of the 2026 college baseball tournament. This might be the most inspiring.
Little Rock made college baseball history.
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is located in the capitol city of the Natural State. The Trojans punched their ticket to the NCAA Tournament by winning the Ohio Valley Conference at 36-26.
They received the No. 4 seed in the Hattiesburg Regional. Southern Miss was the No. 1 seed. Jacksonville State was the No. 3 seed. Virginia was the No. 2 seed.
Rarely does the four-seed win its first game against the host team but Little Rock went into Mississippi and dominated. It won its first game by a score of 7-3 to advance through the winner’s bracket. It also won its next two games by three runs each.
In doing so, the Trojans advanced to play in the Super Regional for the first time in program history. In fact, they had only made the postseason two times prior, once in 2011 and last season. They had never made it out of the Regional.
The past no longer matters. Little Rock is two wins away from the College World Series as one of the lowest overall seeds in the entire NCAA Tournament bracket.
The Trojans showed
Although the final out did not result in a dog pile, the celebration was on! Little Rock exploded out of the dugout to celebrate its historic college baseball victory. They made sure to get everybody involved.

That includes the bus driver. Players made sure to show their admiration for Kevin. He drove them all over the country this season. He has been with them every step of the way.
Multiple players gave him a huge. Outfielder Luis Castillo even has a secret handshake with him.
This kind of thing is what college sports are all about. Kevin isn’t just a bus driver, he is a crucial part of the program. For the players to have this kind of bond with him speaks to their character. They could just as easily treat him as an employee or not even give him the time of day. Instead, they made sure that their moment was also his moment. They couldn’t do it without him.
