Now that the NFL season has ended and all the post-Super Bowl hoopla is over, college basketball can start to take more of a role in the day-to-day sports zeitgeist.

If you’re one of the many just starting to pay attention as we get closer to March Madness, you saw an incredible finish between Kentucky and LSU on Wednesday night.

John Calipari’s Wildcats went on the road to take on an LSU team that’s near the bottom of the SEC in the standings. That’s a game that Kentucky probably needed to win, given their inconsistent play lately.

For a while, it looked like they were in complete control. They led by fifteen early in the second half as they looked for their third straight win.

But, LSU came roaring back, and had the lead late before an incredible finish that included two lead changes in the final fifteen seconds.

UK’s Kenny Dillingham put them ahead as time ticked down. But, LSU won this game on an absolute prayer. Take a look.

That’s LSU’s Tyrell Ward with a complete miracle to win. Kentucky did almost everything right on that possession to win, and it just didn’t go their way.

Kentucky, who came in ranked #17, falls to 18-8 on the year. They’re now fifth in the SEC, as well. The Wildcats, barring an epic collapse, should go dancing. But, this is well below the standards in Lexington, considering the amount of talent that John Calipari continually brings in.
