There are few, if any, more difficult atmospheres in college football than playing in Death Valley under the lights. But when Alabama travels to Baton Rouge to take on LSU on Nov. 7, that won’t be an issue.

The SEC recently announced a 2:30 p.m. kick time for the game between the Crimson Tide and Tigers, and first-year LSU head coach Lane Kiffin isn’t very happy about it.

Kiffin believes the lack of a night game is a coordinated attempt by the SEC to keep him and LSU from winning.

“I was like, well, if someone thinks the SEC wants us to win this year after what’s been going on, they must have just been on Mars the last four months,” Kiffin said Wednesday. “So I guess when I look at it that way, I’m not surprised.

“Especially in 16 years, this game has been at night here all the time. I never even considered that it wouldn’t be at night. So I guess that’s probably naive of me.”

Lane Kiffin Has Flip-Flopped His Stance On LSU Home Games

Kiffin clearly has an issue with LSU not getting to play the game at night now that he’s the head coach of the Tigers. But just last season, when he was coaching Ole Miss, he complained about how often LSU got to play at night.

“So, who went at night? LSU gets to play at night again, I guess? Shocker,” Kiffin said after the Ole Miss-Georgia Game was slotted in the afternoon. “That’s two for two for them.”

So, which is it, Lane? Does LSU get too many night games? Or does LSU not get enough night games? Or, perhaps, does your answer depend on which side of the coin you fall on?
