During this past college football recruiting season, Lane Kiffin spent a bit of time trolling new LSU head coach Brian Kelly. Specifically, he took a shot at Kelly over a video that was released of him dancing with a recruit.

Today, Kiffin’s Ole Miss travelled to Baton Rouge to take on Kelly’s LSU Tigers. It was a matchup that the Rebels led at halftime, but they would be held scoreless in the second half while LSU poured it on for a 45-20 win.

After the win, LSU football’s Twitter account took the opportunity to respond to Kiffin’s post about the Kiffin video.

Brian Kelly took some heat earlier in the year after they suffered a disappointing loss against Florida State and got crushed by Tennessee, but he has really turned things around in recent weeks.

The biggest reason for the turnaround and perhaps the most impressive thing that Kelly has accomplished at LSU is that he has gotten the most out of Jayden Daniels.

After an impressive freshman season at Arizona State, Daniels appeared to regress over the past two years under the tutelage of Herm Edwards. That regression led many to wonder just how far he could take LSU after transferring.

We have all been getting the answer to that question over the past 2 weeks as LSU has scored 45 points in back to back games.

Today, Jayden Daniels contributed 369 total yards and 5 total touchdowns against Ole Miss.

The 2 losses they’ve already suffered this season mean that LSU won’t make an appearance in the College Football Playoff this season, but if they can pull off another major upset in Baton Rouge when they take on Alabama in couple of weeks, we’ll likely be talking about them playing in a New Year’s 6 game.
