Ludacris was one of more than 50 Atlanta-based rappers to attend Sunday’s NFL rivalry bout between the Falcons and Saints. Dirty South legends gathered at Mercedes Benz Stadium for a 50th anniversary celebration of hip hop.

There were a lot of cool performances throughout the game.

T.I. kicked things off with a performance of ‘Bring Em Out’ as the team took the field. It was still a legendary moment, but things got awkward in a hurry when his microphone wasn’t working.

The audio failures also forced Cee-Lo Green’s national anthem performance to be replaced by an instrumental recording. Woops!

Other than that, the Falcons did an awesome job celebrating a genre of music that is so deeply rooted in their city. Everybody was there, from Waka Flocka Flame and Arrested Development to Earthgang, Killer Mike and YoungBloodZ.

Remaining members of TLC paid tribute to Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopez. Bone Crusher had 70,000 fans join voice to sing ‘Never Scared.’ Jermaine Dupree, Quavo, Big Boi and Jeezy broke it down at halftime.

And then it was Ludacris’ turn to bring the house down with the most eye-popping performance of the night during the fourth quarter. To the surprise of everybody, he literally rappelled down from the roof!

If the aerial stunt wasn’t cool enough, Ludacris shared a POV video of the descent that made him look like a total baller. The 46-year-old also threw in a fellatio joke with some Georgia Dome wordplay for good measure.

Everything about the Falcons’ celebration of hip hop could not have been any cooler, outside some of the technical difficulties. It is a real shame that the national television broadcast and NFL media didn’t give the star-studded lineup the shine it deserved.

Seeing Ludacris fall out of the sky while rapping one of his biggest hits was pretty baller!
