North Carolina head coach Mack Brown made some interesting comments about NC State’s Dave Doeren this week referencing some locker room comments made by the Wolfpack leader after their rivalry game.

He looks rather foolish after the NCSU fanbase pulled some social media receipts showing UNC players acting in the same fashion.

After beating the Tar Heels for a third straight season, Doeren celebrated with his team. In a postgame speech, he made the following statement.

“You know it’s been 1,460 days since those pieces of s— beat us!”

While the comment was made in private, ACC Network cameras caught the celebration and it’s since circulated social media.

Mack Brown reacted to the Mic’d Up segment, calling Doeren’s statement “classless.”

Wolfpack fans then dug up some dirt from past rivalry games to show Brown’s players using similar language towards NC State.

This footage is from a 2021 matchup in Raleigh. UNC led that rivalry contest throughout before allowing two touchdowns in the final 1:35 of the game to lose, 34-30.

It’s easy to get caught in the emotion of a rivalry game, and frustrations with his lack of success against the Pack likely attributed to the response.

As it stands, NC State head coach Dave Doeren wasn’t happy about the locker room celebration going public either.

“We’re supposed to get notice that there’s a camera in our locker room, and that was not done,” he said in a recent presser. “I have a lot of regret that it was on TV, because it shouldn’t have been.”

Unfortunately for both parties, the footage did get out. It should add some more spice to next year’s rivalry matchup in Chapel Hill.
