Last week we saw Manchester City once again suffer a massive disappointment in the Champions League. They came into their second leg against Real Madrid leading by a goal and then scored first in the match. All they needed to do late in the match was survive a few more minutes and a spot in the Final was theirs.

Then they gave up 2 quick goals and an extra time penalty and the dream was once again put on hold. It was yet another Champions League disappointment after years of massive expenditures from City as they’ve tried to build the squad they believed would deliver them the trophy that has repeatedly eluded them.

Today, they made another splashy move that they’ll be expecting to finally get them that trophy. The team announced that they reached an agreement with Borussia Dortmund to sign star striker Erling Haaland.

The details of the move were also revealed today.

Haaland now becomes the latest world class piece to join an attack that already leads the Premier League in goals scored this season. The 21-year old has scored 86 goals in 88 appearances since joining Dortmund 2 and a half years ago, making him one of the most coveted strikers in the world.

If Haaland isn’t the player that can finally get City over the hump then I don’t what it’s going to take to finally get them to win a Champions League Final.
