Umpires have been notoriously bad this season as it seems like a horrible call is made every week.

That was certainly the case on Wednesday night between the Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals.

In the bottom of the seventh, Marlins star Jean Segura was up to bat with his team up 8-7. The Cardinals’ pitcher threw a ball down and away and it was obviously a ball.

However, the umpire called it strike and Segura was not happy about it. He immediately marked the location of the ball while the catcher threw the ball to the third baseman.

The umpire didn’t like Segura’s actions so he tossed the Marlins’ short stop right there. Watch the clip for yourself, via Jomboy Media.

It’s a bad call. There’s just no other way to put it. The ball is clearly on the outside, albeit, it wasn’t as far out as Segura claimed it to be.

But it still should have been called a ball. Also, how great is it for Segura to locate the ball on the dirt like that?

Dude is clearly tired of the umpires this year.

MLB fans couldn’t believe that the Marlins’ star was tossed for his antics, as it’s not like Jean Segura got in the umpires face or anything.

We have been asking for robot umps for far too long.

It feels like the Marlins manager, Skip Schumaker, should’ve had a talk with the umpire.

We’re likely going to keep seeing bad calls until the MLB makes a serious change.

The minors are currently testing robot umps, as well as an incredibly simple challenge system that takes maybe three seconds.

Regardless, let’s just hop the Marlins and Jean Segura don’t get too frustrated moving forward. There are still plenty of games left to be played this season.
