Matt Canada Had No Reaction To Steelers’ Game-Winning TD, Fans Think Kenny Pickett Audibled

Matt Canada has been the target of criticism this season as the Steelers struggle on offense. Pittsburgh’s unit ranks 25th in the NFL, averaging less than 16 points a game.

Sunday’s matchup against the Ravens was no different, though his team did leave with a come-from-behind 17-10 win. Canada’s reaction to the game-winning touchdown is now under scrutiny.

Trailing 10-8 in the fourth quarter, Kenny Pickett hit George Pickens on a go-route for a 41-yard score.

The pass put the Steelers up 14-10 though Pittsburgh would miss the two-point conversion.

As players celebrated on the field and fans erupted in the stands, Canada was seen void of emotion in the press box.

“This clip validates my theory that Matt Canada does not actually want the Steelers to score,” one person said.

The lack of reaction immediately had fans believing Pickett called an audible on the play.

“It’s got to be confirmed that Kenny Pickett called the play on that touchdown not Matt Canada,” one follower commented.

“He didn’t call the play. His job flashed before his eyes,” someone else said.

“Kenny checked out of the play he called,” this fan wrote.

The reaction only further infuriated Pittsburgh fans who want to see the play caller canned. Despite the win, this marks the third game in which the Steelers have failed to score more than 17 points.

If you take the two defensive touchdowns out of the Steelers’ 26-point output in Week 2, that number jumps to four of five games in terms of offensive production.
