Steelers offensive coordinator Matt Canada’s seat is too hot to touch at this point. You’ll burn your hand.

The 51-year-old has been with Pittsburgh since 2020 as first the quarterbacks coach before getting promoted in 2021. His offense has ranked near the bottom of the NFL since he was hired.

This season has been the worst of them all. Even the wins have not been pretty offensively.

  • WEEK 1: 49ers 30 — Steelers 7
    • 239 yards on 61 plays
    • 5-of-15 on third down
    • 1-of-3 on fourth down
  • WEEK 2: Steelers 26 — Browns 22
    • 255 yards on 53 plays
    • 4-of-14 on third down
  • WEEK 3: Steelers 23 — Raiders 18
    • 333 yards on 60 plays
    • 6-of-15 on third down
  • WEEK 4: Texans 30 — Steelers 6
    • 225 yards on 56 plays
    • 6-of-14 on third down
    • 0-for-1 on fourth down

Canada’s play-calling has been uninspiring. The run game cannot get anything going. Kenny Pickett has been unable to find much success through the air. Play-makers aren’t getting the ball.

It’s been ugly.

Pittsburgh fans have called for Canada to be fired all season. It’s a weekly occurrence. Even ‘Hank’ from Breaking Bad got in on the action. Players might even want him gone.

Pittsburgh Steelers fans want Matt Canada fired. Badly.

Things reached a fever pitch as the Steelers struggled more than they have all season against the Ravens on Sunday. They scored just three points in the first half. They had less than 150 total yards through the third quarter. Yikes.

As Canada stood on the sideline at Acrisure Stadium Heinz Field, the fans had enough. A sold-out crowd of 68,400 joined together in unison to let the front office know how badly they want him gone.

The thunderous ‘Fire Canada’ chant could have been heard from space.

If that doesn’t get the message across, then nothing will. Pittsburgh wants Canada gone and it sure seems like they will get their wish at some point.
