We came up short last night and my heart hurts for you Atlanta. Hats off to New England they played a heck of a game. We will adapt, we will over come, we will #RiseUp again
I never thought I’d say this about a man whose amassed $133.7 million dollars in career earnings and was recently named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player, but the last person I’d want to be right now is Matt Ryan. There’s no one who needs to be reminded of blowing a three score game going into the final quarter less than the Boston College alum.
I can’t imagine the anguish that comes with bringing an entire city within inches of winning just its second championship since 1900, only to have it ripped from your lifeless fingers in what will go down as arguably the biggest collapse in sports history.
Most of the comments on Ryan’s post were supportive, but there were far too many trolls whose sole mission was to rub salt in the wound.
Lets focus on the positives: Ryan, at 31 years old, is eight years younger than Brady. He was named MVP of the 2016 season with 25 of the 50 votes by the media. He led the league in passer rating this year, the fifth-highest all-time and his playoff passer rating is also fifth highest all-time. Ryan threw touchdown passes to an NFL-record 13 different receivers this season. He’s an elite quarterback now with a chip on his shoulder who lost to the greatest quarterback to ever live. I am up to my eyeballs in debt and haven’t gotten laid in a month. Cry for me, Argentina.
