The Dallas Mavericks Went The Wrong Way In NBA Summer League

NBA Summer League action is pretty entertaining. This year’s Vegas Summer League, presented by 2K24, has already had some great moments from some of the game’s youngest stars.

But, in Friday night’s game involving the Dallas Mavericks and Indiana Pacers, that was not the case. Instead, we got the biggest blooper of the entire Summer League season.

Now, Summer League rosters are pretty big. The Mavericks had 16 guys on the roster last night, and many of those guys are rarely going to see time in Summer League action. So, with 3:49 left, Dallas Summer league coach Jared Dudley put in an entire new five with the Mavs up big. What happened next was a disaster.

First off, before the clip, a foul is called on Dallas. Yet, they go to inbound the ball, and the official gives it to them. Then, they initially go the wrong way, and then actually correct themselves. But, it’s too late, as the refs call them for a backcourt violation

What an epic disaster. The only team in the right position, at least somewhat, were the Jazz, who should’ve had the ball attacking the left basket on your screen. And, Marcus Bingham Jr., who takes the ball the other way, also ends up going the right way. Naturally, Twitter was up in arms.

Admittedly, it’s funny when you try to insult someone else’s intelligence and misspell Wonderlic.

A similar situation also occurred in a Mavericks game last season. What a trainwreck.
