Heat forward Max Strus took a moment to troll his opponent after Miami’s Eastern Conference Finals series win over Boston. Strus posted the jab on his Instagram page this week.

The shot comes in reference to his being waived by the Celtics four years ago. He hasn’t forgotten it, and he’s making sure to remind everyone else as his team gears up for the NBA Finals.

Strus was an integral part of the Heat’s 4-3 series win over Boston, scoring double figures in three of Miami’s four wins. This, coming after averaging a career-high 11.5 points per game in the 2022-23 season.

The forward also saw career marks in assists, rebounds, steals, and playing time, though it wasn’t long ago that Strus was trying to find his place in the NBA.

The former DePaul star went undrafted after leaving school. He’d eventually sign a two-way deal with the Celtics but was cut before the start of the season. Strus played briefly with the Bulls before getting picked up by the Heat in 2020.

From there, he’s blossomed into a reliable contributor off the bench.

And he wasn’t going to let the opportunity pass to troll Boston after his team’s Eastern Conference championship.

Strus posted a photo to Instagram showing the announcement of his release.

Fans were quick to react to the jab.

One person wrote, “I love everything about this! LETS GO HEAT!”

Someone else said, “Max always keeping receipts.”

Strus is definitely enjoying the moment, but while the ECF win is great, the job isn’t finished. Just ask Jimmy Butler.

The Heat continue the journey on Thursday as their Finals series with the Denver Nuggets begins. We’ll see if Strus and Co. can continue to surprise and become the first No. 8 seed to win a championship.
