Soccer superstar Lionel Messi is officially turning down a ton of money from the Saudis because of his family.

Last week it was reported that Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal had offered Messi $1.2 billion for two years.

Saudi Arabia via Al Hilal offered him the biggest contract in history with a contract of 1.2 billion euros over 2 years, or 600 million euros per year and more than double what CR7 currently receives.

According to the French newspaper Le Equipe, Messi and his wife Antonela Roccuzzo rejected the offer because they couldn’t imagine raising their children in the Gulf.

Barring a huge turnaround, Messi should in any case not follow up on Saudi Arabia’s XXL proposal, the couple not seeing themselves settling with their three boys in the Gulf desert. The person concerned should make his decision known by a press release on his social networks as soon as it is final.

Apparently, Roccuzzo pushed for the move to Miami.

Lo-and-Behold Messi eventually decided to sign with Inter-Miami and play for them next season.

The soccer superstar will still make a ridiculous amount of money as Apple has reportedly offered to share a portion of MLS Season Pass revenue with him if he joined the MLS.

Inter Miami fans are already thanking Antonela for bringing Messi to Miami.
