  • Joe Burrow has rapidly become one of the faces of the NFL.
  • Set to play in his first Super Bowl this weekend, seemingly everyone has been giving the second-year QB his flowers.
  • Everyone except Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons, that is.

Joe Burrow better soak in all the praise he’s getting now because as the lawyer-formerly-known as Harvey Dent famously opined in The Dark Knight, you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. Or like Joker said: “They need you right now, but when they don’t, they’ll cast you out like a leper.” The same is (sort of) true for (most) athletes: they love ya when you’re the underdog and can’t stand ya when you’re the favorite, which seems to be the exact zone that Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow currently finds himself in.

These days, everyone loves Joe Burrow. We’ve written dozens of articles about him this week and month. Why? Because people read them, that’s why. It’s Joe Burrow Mania out there right now. Everyone is giving Burrow his flowers. Everyone except for Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons, who recently told Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks that Burrow is “not there” in “some games.”

“Joe’s like extremely good, but then some games Joe would like have a day, but then some games like he’s not there,” Parsons said.

“I guess [the game against] the Bears, he threw like… I don’t know, I wouldn’t say it’s easy to get in his head because I haven’t played him and I play him next year, and I don’t want this to get to him and he come down to AT&T Stadium and throw for 400 yards and be like, ‘He said that in an interview,’ so I don’t want to say nothing crazy.”

As Parsons alludes to, he better hope his comments about Joey Franchise — who could be a reigning Super Bowl MVP by then — don’t come back to bite him.
