Micah Parsons Slams Rodney Harrison While Sharing Message Of Support For Zach Wilson

Count Micah Parsons among the growing list of Zach Wilson supporters after the Jets quarterback’s impressive showing against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The much-maligned signal caller had perhaps the best game of his career, going 28-of-39 for 245 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions despite a 23-20 loss to defending champs.

After the contest, NBC Sports analyst and former Pro Bowl safety Rodney Harrison took a shot at Wilson while interviewing Chiefs star Chris Jones.

“But watching that tape, man, you gotta look at this dude and say oh he is garbage! We should really tear him apart,” Harrison asked Jones.

To his credit, Jones had nothing but praise for the third-year quarterback.

Harrison immediately came under fire from fans and players for his comments.

Former Tennessee Titans offensive line Taylor Lewan spoke out strongly against the former Chargers and Patriots star.

“…The baiting, and being like, ‘Hey, isn’t he trash! I’ve been watching that film saying he’s garbage.’ Brother, you had an amazing career. Everywhere you walk in the football world, people tip their cap to you, and they respect you. But we shouldn’t be, ever, taking down a guy like that, ever. He’s literally a kid, he’s a child, he’s 23, 24 years old… I just don’t see the reason,” Lewan said.

And Parsons seems to agree.

“To me bro, that’s just not right,” Parsons said while appearing on his weekly Bleacher Report show. “…To me that’s a fraudulent move. ‘Cause every deserves a chance to be better. Like, even me, I’m not the one to decide who’s special and who’s not special.

“You can’t sit here and say ‘oh, you look at the tape and he’s garbage.’ Like, come on Rodney. You can say that he’s not a Mahomes-tier. Yeah, you could say that. But you can’t say that he’s not a good quarterback. He’s a starting quarterback in the NFL. Rodney, if you can show me you could do, then you do it if you’re so good. Like, bro, he’s a top five pick. He got drafted that high for a reason. Let his traits and everything he (does) grow.”

Parsons finished off the segment by sending a message to Wilson.

“Zach, bro, if you’re out there, I hope you win,” he said. “I really do. I hope you win, I hope you grow into the player that no one thinks that you can grow into. Because there’s a lot of people that’s hating on.”

Is this the beginning of Wilson’s turnaround? Maybe not.

But it’s good to see how much support he’s gathering around the league.
